Joan Kirner Emerging Leaders Program

The Joan Kirner Emerging Leaders Program honours the legacy of the late Joan Kirner AC. The program supports young Victorian women and gender diverse people to follow in her footsteps.

The program is delivered in partnership with Leadership Victoria. It aims to empower and support young women and gender diverse people to:

  • identify the leadership challenges they face, and
  • develop practical skills and strategies to advance their leadership careers.

Participants take part in:

  • interactive learning development workshops
  • collaborative group work
  • structured networking and mentoring activities
  • hear from guest speakers that are shifting the perceptions of young women in leadership.

Previous rounds

  • Round four concluded in November 2023 and was open to emerging women leaders from multicultural and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Round three concluded in June 2023 and was open to women across all industries.
  • Round two was delivered in 2022 and focused on women employed in non-traditional and male-dominated industries.
  • Round one was delivered in 2022 and was open to women across all industries.
