All candidates must complete Local Government Candidate Training before they are able to nominate.

You must complete the training before formally nominating as a candidate.

Safe Campaigning Guidelines

These guidelines will help candidates in regional Victoria understand how to comply with the directions of the Victorian Chief Health Officer, and how to stay safe while campaigning.

Advice for scrutineers at the council elections

Victoria moved to Last Step of the roadmap for reopening from 11:59pm on 22 November.

If you are scrutineering for elections, maintain 1.5 metres from those you don’t live with, wear a fitted face mask when indoors or when physical distancing cannot be observed and regularly wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser regularly.

Please contact the VEC for further information about your responsibilities to be COVIDSafe whilst undertaking scrutineering.
